About Us

Crossover exists to join God in the work He's doing to reconcile people to Himself through faith in Jesus, and to make disciples by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Through a lengthy, prayerful process in 2025, the elders sought to discern the answer to the question, "What is a disciple?"

Here's what they came up with: A disciple is a new creation, called to live IN Christ, equipped to live LIKE Christ, and sent to live FOR Christ.

Our vision as a church—or how we accomplish the above mission—stems directly out of this definition: we want to be a church where every member is called to live in Christ, equipped to live like Christ, and sent to live for Christ.

1. Biblical: God's Word is the authority, life source, and conscience in everything. We are unmoved where God's Word is made clear and we are flexible where God's Word permits. 2 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:12-13; 2 Peter 1:20-21

2. Spirit-Dependent: We believe the Holy Spirit is the way to maturity in Christ as He leads us in all truth. We are strengthened by the Holy Spirit by abiding in Christ Jesus who equips us to live out our salvation according to the Father's good purpose. John 14:16-17, 26

3. Prayer-Full: Prayer is our direct engagement through Jesus Christ who provides access to the Living God. Everything we do begins with seeking our Heavenly Father in prayer. Colossians 4:2; John 14:15, 23

4. Missional: Every believer is given a gift by the Holy Spirit to steward in serving others by the varied grace of God. Spiritual giftedness and maturity provide how each is designed to serve. We desire imperfect excellence without compromise in all aspects of ministry and lives. (1 Peter 4:10; Col. 3:17) Praise God we each mattered to Him when we were lost and He drew us to Himself for salvation. Just as we matter to God so do others who remain lost, dead in their sin. Therefore, we openly share the Gospel.

5. Authentic: We desire to learn with the Holy Spirit's help how to express authenticity, integrity, and candor out of hearts filled with God's love. We are committed to community through Sunday worship, ChurchNight, GrowthGroups and other gathering opportunities. We intentionally commit to Christ by being involved in accountable, encouraging relationships that seek for reconciliation (Matt. 5:24; Eph. 2:13-15). 1 Timothy 1:5; 1 Corinthians 13:4-7; Hebrews 10:24-25; John 15:12

6. Worship-Full: We are a people full of prayer and worship, because we believe worship is a lifestyle and not just an event, for we desire to worship the Lord God in all aspects of life (1 Cor. 10:31). We worship by pointing one another to Christ who is worthy of all glory, honor and praise. We choose to start now for every knee will bow and every tongue will confess Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father (Phil. 2:5-11). Isaiah 25:1; John 4:24; Psalm 28:7; 68:4-5; 95:6

It's not just a tagline. Everything we do at Crossover has the explicit goal of helping you in your walk with Christ. Growing stronger in your faith and in knowledge of His Word are of utmost importance to us. We also recognize that growing stronger cannot be nearly as effective for God's Kingdom without other believers walking alongside us for our strengthening, refinement, and growth.

This is why we Grow Stronger Together.

As God's body, we're called to do more than go to church. We are called to be the church, and to belong to one another as Christ's body. (1 Cor. 12)

Membership isn't just an administrative help, it's the backbone of who we are at Crossover. We see membership as a tangible way to enter into communion with fellow believers and truly belong to one another.

God The Father
God is the uncreated Creator of all things visible and invisible. We believe in one triune God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—each co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections.  (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 14:10, 26; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

Jesus Christ
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men. (Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-2, 14; 2 Corinthians 5:19-21; Galatians 4:4-5; Philippians 2:5-8)
 
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as a representative, substitutionary sacrifice; and, that our justification is made sure by  His literal, physical resurrection from the dead. (Acts 2:18-36; Romans 3:24-25; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 Peter 1:3-5)
 
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate.  (Acts 1:9-10; Romans 8:34; Hebrews 9:24; 7:25; 1 John 2:1-2)

The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He is the supernatural agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them until the day
of redemption. (John 16:8-11; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; 2 Corinthians 3:6; Ephesians 1:13-14)
 
We believe that He is the divine Teacher who assists believers to understand and properly use the Scriptures. (Ephesians 1:17-18; 5:18; 1 John 2:20, 27) We believe He gives spiritual gifts to every believer and uniquely uses evangelists, pastors, and teachers to equip believers in the body for the work of the ministry. (Romans 12:3-8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, 28; Ephesians 4:7-12)
 
We believe that the Holy Spirit gave some gifts, such as speaking in tongues and the gift of healing, to certain individuals as authentication for the Gospel in the early church. (Acts 8:14; 10:44-48; 11:15-18; 19:1-6) Speaking in tongues was never the common or necessary sign of the baptism or filling of the Holy Spirit but always was presented in the New Testament as a known language to proclaim the Gospel (Acts 2:6-13).  Ultimate deliverance of the body from sickness or death awaits the consummation of our salvation in the resurrection, though God frequently chooses to answer the prayers of believers for physical healing. (1 Corinthians 1:22; 13:8; 14:21-22)

We believe the Bible to be inspired, inerrant and God-breathed in the original writings. The Bible is the final authority for doctrines and practices for the Christian faith.  The 39 books of the Old Testament and the 27 books of the New Testament are the complete and divine special revelation of God to man. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam’s sin humanity fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God which brought both physical and spiritual death. Man can do nothing to merit God’s favor and is unable to remedy his lost condition because of sin. (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:22-23; 5:12; 6:23; Ephesians 2:1-3; 4:17-19)

We believe that salvation is the gift of God received by man through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for sin. It is Christ’s precious blood shed on the cross that offers forgiveness of sins and justification by grace through faith and not of works. (Matthew 12:31-32; John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-10; 1 Peter 1:18-19; 1 John 1:9)  

We believe that all the redeemed are kept by God’s power and are secure in Christ forever.  (John 6:37-40; 10:27-30; Romans 8:1; 38-39; 1 Corinthians 1:4-8; 1 Peter 1:4-5) Because God gives eternal life through Jesus Christ, the true believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives us this security. (John 10:28-29; 2 Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25, 10:10, 14; 1 Peter 1:3-5)

We believe that the Church is the Body and Bride of Christ and solely consists of born-again persons of this present age.  (1 Corinthians 12:12-14; 2 Corinthians 11:2; Ephesians 1:22-23; 5:25-27)

We believe that the establishment and continuance of local churches is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament Scriptures.  Each local church is a gathering of professing believers in Jesus who willingly join in one locality for the purposes of discipleship through the study of God’s Word, genuine worship both personally and corporately, being equipped for Kingdom work, and stewarding their lives for fulfilling God’s mission. (Acts 14:27; 20:17, 28-32; 1 Timothy. 3:1-13; Titus 1:5-11)

We believe the next event in God’s unfolding plan of redemptive history will be the imminent appearing of the Lord Jesus Christ for the Church, commonly known as the rapture (Romans 5:9; 1 Corinthians 15:42-57; Philippians 3:20; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 2:13), followed by the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:15-28; 2 Thessalonians 2:3-8; Revelation 3:10) and will culminate at the Second Coming of Christ who will rule the nations and establish His millennial Kingdom. (Zechariah 14:4-11; Revelation 19:11-21; 20:1-6)

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people, the saved to eternal life, and the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment. (Matthew 25:46; John 5:28, 29; 11:25-26; Revelation 20:5-6, 12-13)
 
We believe that the souls of the redeemed are, at death, absent from the body and present with the Lord, where they wait the first resurrection, when spirit, soul, and body are reunited to be glorified forever with the Lord. (Luke 23:43; 2 Corinthians 5:8; Philippians 1:23; 3:21; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:4-6)
 
We believe that the souls of unbelievers remain after death in conscious punishment and torment until the second resurrection when the soul and body are reunited. At that time, they will appear at the Great White Throne Judgment and shall be cast into the Lake of Fire, not to be annihilated, but to suffer everlasting conscious punishment separated from God.  (Matthew 25:41-46; Mark 9:43-48; Luke 16:19-26; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9; Jude 6-7; Revelation 20:11-15)

We recognize two ordinances at Crossover: water baptism by immersion, and the Lord’s Supper, also known as Communion. These are the Scriptural ordinances of obedience for the church until Christ returns. (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:41-42; 8:36-38; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

We believe water baptism is a public proclamation to obey Jesus’ command and follow Him because of His death, burial, and resurrection. We believe children can be dedicated to the Lord but should not be baptized until they have personally believed in Christ for their salvation.  

We believe Communion is the symbolic reminder of Christ’s death and an expression of our faith in His promise to return. We believe only those who have come to faith in Jesus should partake in Communion and do so after self-examination so that they are right with both God and others.
